Diary of A Tile Addict
Diary of a Tile Addict proves that tile is a creative and constantly evolving sector. It was founded by Joe Simpson whose passion was sparked by a tour of the Minton Hollins factory in Stoke-on-Trent many moons ago. He was utterly beguiled by the skill of the workforce who were creating four-colour clay encaustic tiles for The Capitol Building in Washington DC, USA, and the Palace of Westminster, London, UK.
We’re mad about tiles!
His infatuation with tiles continues to this day. Diary of a Tile Addict covers all things tile-related but also offers an opportunity to pay tribute to those individuals who have inspired Joe throughout his career, such as World’s End Tiles’ Paul Portelli, Nanda Tiles’ Laurie Salvador, and Lake District tile artist Maggie Angus Berkowitz.
Joe is dedicated to covering design excellence, innovation, and artistry. A self-confessed tile geek, Joe digs deep into the latest tile-manufacturing techniques – from continuous pressing, ink-jet decorating, reactive glazes, sinking inks, digital glues, – that drive the pace of creative change. And the best is yet to come. As they say, watch this space.
